Last year was a busy year and we were away all summer, so I recently arranged a catch up with my sisters and some good friends in Covent Garden. It was a great opportunity to visit one of London’s most beautiful spots and try somewhere new to eat. Covent Garden is also a place which holds a lot of fond memories for me as I went there as a child and found the stalls and shops fascinating, and I was also a huge fan of My Fair Lady as well! For this post, I collaborated with Hotels.com. The spending money was gifted by Hotels.com but all views are my own.
As usual, we found plenty to distract us on our way to our brunch venue, the stylish Avobar cafe. There was a piano surrounded by a beautiful floral display where we stopped to take some photos and a perfectly pink Figaro car (which I have since realised has its own Instagram account!).
I was looking forward to a fresh nutritious meal and Avobar definitely has some great healthy options, as long as you are a fan of avocados! Almost every dish has a large helping of avocado, with accompaniments such as beetroot latte or fresh juices. We arrived before it got busy at around 10.30am, by the time we left there were queues outside.
Following this, we had a wander round the market and I stopped by some of my favourite Covent Garden shops, including Laduree. The dessert displays were exquisite, and I decided to pick up a couple of pastries for later. The Ispahan was especially pretty and tasted amazing. I also popped into Whittard for some 90s nostalgia (and chocolate covered coffee beans).
There is always so much to explore in Covent Garden, wonderful street entertainers and some great shops and restaurants. It’s definitely worth a stop if you are visiting London.
